Hands-On GMRS Radio & LoRa Mesh Transceiver Training with COAD and North Bay Communication Cooperative

10/8, 9am -12pm at the Red Cross Office on Aero Drive in Santa Rosa: Geoff Peters from Northern Sonoma County CERT is going to be presenting a hands-on training on the use of GMRS radios and LoRa Mesh transceivers for off-grid encrypted text messaging. Simultaneous translation services will be available, so this could be an opportunity for either you or others in your agencies to begin to familiarize themselves with this equipment.

COAD and the North Bay Communication Cooperative, which is comprised of a group experienced radio & communication volunteers, are committed to make training opportunities available to nonprofit agencies that serve the Latinx community in the county and to residents in that community so that they can begin to develop their own alternate communication networks in the event that the typical platforms stop functioning during a disaster.  If you’d like to have representatives from your agencies attend this event, please contact Elaine Tokolahi, COAD Director, at etokolahi@capsonoma.org. so that she knows who you plan to send.
